The TAC Art/Work Gallery is a 1,000 square-foot, purpose built gallery space that is ideal for displaying work in any medium.
Features include:
- Wall-mounted hanging rails and hardware
- Movable, double-sided walls for additional hanging space
- Polished concrete floors
- 20' ceiling height on the east side of the space
- Fully-accessible with two accessible washrooms
- WIFI
- Electronic security system
The gallery is located at the corner of Richmond Street West and Portland, in close proximity to 401-Richmond as well as a number of Queen West galleries. Please note that is intended as publicly-accessible gallery space and is not suitable as a work studio or live-work use.
Cost: The gallery will be made available to eligible artists or non-profit organizations for a below-market rate of $1,200 per month. The space can be rented on a short-term basis, from a single weekend up to a maximum of 10 months.

APPLICATION PROCESS
Exhibitors will be required to prepare a submission which addresses the areas outlined below.
For Artists, a 1-2 page submission is required which sets out:
Your requested occupancy period
Your proposed use of the space, providing detail on your artistic practice
Your plan for public access to the space
Your outline of any proposed collaboration with other artists
Your professional artist CV. (If you are or have been a TAC grant recipient, please indicate this)
For Organizations, a 1-2 page submission is required which sets out:
Your organization's history including mission statements, years of operation, and a brief description of the organization's current programs and services
Your proposed occupancy period
Your proposed use of the space, providing detail on proposed programming
Your plan for public access to the space
Your plan for collaboration with other organizations or artists if applicable
Your program plans, if any, for how the space will involve the community
Your organization's most recent audited financial statements
Applications are being accepted at any time and are reviewed on a first come, first serve basis. All submissions will be considered confidential.
Potential tenants of the space will be selected on the following criteria:
The eligibility of the applicant
Toronto based professional artist or artists
Toronto based non-profit arts organization
Toronto based curator
The proposed plan for public access to the space (gallery hours, workshops, etc)
Proposed plans, if any, for collaborative use of the space with other artists or arts organizations
