ARTIST OPEN CALL l FIFA World Cup 26™ Toronto Poster

As a proud Host City for the FIFA World Cup 26™, the City of Toronto invites local artists and designers to apply to create the official FIFA World Cup 26™ Toronto poster. This poster will serve as a vibrant visual and cultural emblem of Toronto’s identity during this global event, allowing us to share our unique story with the world.

Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age and older, as of October 16, 2024
  • Reside in the City of Toronto
  • Read and agree to the Terms & Conditions in the application submission form

How to Apply

Eligible artists and designers are encouraged to submit an expression of interest to design the official FIFA World Cup 26™ Toronto poster by completing the online application form by the deadline of October 29 at 11:59 p.m.

Submissions must include:

  • A short biography (250 words maximum)
  • A single file, can be a zipped folder (not to exceed 95MB) with up to 10 examples of your past work. Do not submit images or files containing any identifiable individuals.
  • Do not submit an artwork proposal for the poster at this stage.
  • Applicants can choose to apply as either a professional artist representing a business or as a non-business professional artist.

Selection Process
Semi-Finalist Selection & Design Creation

A project specific selection panel will choose up to five Semi-Finalists who will be invited to develop a poster design proposal based on specifics outlined in an artwork brief. Semi-Finalists will each receive $2,000 CAD to fuel their creativity. Semi-Finalists will be contacted during the week of November 25.

Only artists or designers who are selected as semi-finalists will be contacted.
The artwork brief will only be shared with the selected Semi-Finalists.

Final Selection

Semi-Finalist poster design proposals will be shared with FIFA. FIFA is convening the selection panel responsible for selecting one design as the official FIFA World Cup 26™ Toronto poster. The winning creator will receive an additional fee of $8,000 CAD and their poster will be showcased publicly leading up to and during the tournament.

Tournament Details

FIFA World Cup 26™ will be the biggest sporting event ever, with three Host Countries, 16 Host Cities, 48 teams and 104 matches uniting an entire continent to showcase a momentous new tournament format. With more countries, cities, teams and matches, FIFA World Cup 26™ will be the most inclusive tournament ever, engaging millions of fans across 16 unique stadiums and billions worldwide. The tournament will take place from June 11 to July 19, 2026.
