Lens on the Ends - Youth Photography Workshop
Lens on the Ends is a weekly, in-person Intro to Photography workshop series inviting selected BIPOC youth (ages 18-29) from Scarborough to develop their photography, documentation, and storytelling skills.
Led by Alicia Reid and Myuri Srikugan. We want to help you refine both technical and creative skills by exploring Scarborough’s diverse landscapes, enhancing your visual storytelling skills, and connecting with fellow creatives through hands-on sessions, photo walks, and guided exercises.
Dates: June 10 to August 12, 2025.

Meet the facilitators of Lens on the Ends 📸✨
Myuri Srikugan is a Tamil-Canadian digital artist from Scarborough whose work blends documentary and digital media to tell powerful stories rooted in community and emotion. A Studio Arts grad from UofT, she’s been part of programs with ArtWorksTO, CBC x Kickback, Scarborough Arts and the Doris McCarthy Gallery. Now as a freelancing digital media artist, Myuri collaborates with different organizations including those under the City of Toronto to amplify community based initiative’s, while also facilitating portrait and landscape photography classes in Scarborough.
Alicia Reid is a Jamaican-Canadian Prize-winning photographer, journalist, and documentarian from Scarbirough. Her work, inspired by Caribbean and Toronto culture, captures authentic moments that celebrate people of colour. Specializing in music and event photography, Alicia’s work has been featured in outlets like the Toronto Star, Global News, and Complex Music. A graduate of Toronto Metropolitan University’s Journalism program, she has furthered her career through mentorship programs with The REMIX Project, Scarborough Made and ArtWorksTO. Committed to amplifying underrepresented voices, Alicia uses her lens to challenge narratives and highlight the reality and beauty of marginalized communities.
