CALL FOR APPLICATIONS II Group Exhibition Program - Vengeful Friends

Weeks of Vengeance is a free group exhibition program funded by Vengeful Friends, an NPO dedicated to championing emerging artists of Toronto.

Weeks of Vengeance is a platform for emerging Toronto artists, offering mentorship and collaboration throughout the exhibition process. It provides essential experience, skills, and connections, preparing artists for real-world challenges and helping them thrive in their careers.

Every Thursday is an opening reception for a group of emerging artists and a night of celebration of their work which includes live performances with food and drinks.

The program begins January 2-until April 3rd and is hosted at Youthful Vengeance, 1110 Dundas St. W. (Ossington & Dundas.)

Format:

  • A curator selects and collaborates with emerging local artists for weekly exhibitions over a month.
  • The curator will provide all weekly layouts and an exhibition statement summarizing the monthly concept.
  • All artwork must be professionally hung. Photos must be framed or boarded if using magnets and cannot be pasted onto walls without artistic intention and curator or gallery approval. Nails and wires must be approved by the gallery, and command strips are required for all mounts.
  • All displayed work must be for sale at affordable prices, with a maximum of $1000. Artists should understand the context before applying, as this platform is designed to cultivate a business mindset. This venue is a gallery and cafĂ©, not a blue-chip gallery. Established artists price their work strategically here, and you should too.
