This new professional development opportunity encourages new and experienced animators to discover and create a new animated work with mentorship and in-kind support from TAIS and artistic fees and presentation at the imagineNATIVE Festival.

The imagineNATIVE/TAIS Indigenous Artist in Residency Program supports the production of new animated work by Indigenous artists in TAIS Studios through a combination of funding and in-kind resources. The program invites one Indigenous artist living in Ontario to engage as an emerging creator in the animation space, or as an experienced animator in self-directed research and production towards the completion of a new independent animated film, video, or project. The residency includes a combination of monetary funding and in-kind use of studio space, equipment and resources at TAIS Studios with additional support by imagineNATIVE as
part of their imagineNATIVE Originals: Mentorship Commission program.
