Environmental Defence is commissioning an artist this summer to create a series of artworks for our Climate Finance campaign. The aim is for the art to be showcased at our campaign launch event and art gallery in early October 2024 in Toronto.

Background: The Climate Finance campaign works to transform Canada's financial system to build a better and more sustainable future. Their campaign is as much policy-driven as it is culture-shifting. Environmental Defence are ultimately calling for government regulations over the financial sector to ensure our banks, pension funds, and insurance companies do their part for climate action. However, they aim to put a cultural spotlight on the current practices of our financial sector as they continue to invest billions of dollars every year into fossil fuel expansion in an era of climate disasters.

Next Step:  If interested, fill the form and submit your portfolio. Environmental Defence will contact shortlisted artists and invite them to submit a proposal.  Shortlisted artists will receive a $200 honourium if they choose to submit a proposal. Environmental Defence will select one artist to create the commissioned artworks over two months (August - September). Finally, the exhibition is set for early October. No extensions can be provided
