Call for Submissions | Culture Days | Toronto Public Library

The Toronto Public Library, the Neighbourhood Arts Network and Ontario Culture Days are pleased to continue the Culture Days @ The Library program for an eighth year. This partnership was created to help artists and arts groups from the Toronto area share their creative work with the public.

In addition to a free venue, all participants receive considerable administration, marketing and promotional support for their event via the joint efforts of Culture Days, Toronto Public Library and Neighbourhood Arts Network. Participating organizations, clubs, community groups, non-profits or private businesses are required to supply any project materials needed on the day of the program.

In an effort to support professional artists, a bursary may be available to cover the cost of artist or materials fees. The bursary is currently dependent on funding and only available to professional artists leading community-engaged projects. Artists who receive an offer to participate will be informed of their bursary at that time. Culture Days @ the Library follows the Ontario Arts Council's definition of a professional artist as someone who has developed skills through training or practice, is recognized by artists working in the same artistic tradition, has a history of public presentation or publication, seeks payment for her or his work and actively practices his or her art.

Each year, various TPL branches welcome artists to offer a Culture Days activity to the community and waives the cost of the programming spaces. Here are the location and other details about each branch.

Deadline: April 23, 2018
