I am an artist, adult educator, program and project manager/coordinator and workshop/group facilitator. I have worked in non-profit, community-based, and higher education environments and have developed/implemented projects that support community development, capacity building, well-being, and connections. I hold a BFA (York University) in Sociology & Visual Arts and have always enjoyed a hybrid of things in life and art. I am currently working toward a Master of Education.
Interests and works include painting, mixed media, illustration, printmaking, random photography, audio works, sculpture, puppetry, and creative writing.
My background includes various community arts and public education projects engaging groups of diverse youth and adults (including individuals from marginalized groups).
Thoughts About Art and Community
I think art making and supporting community-engaged arts facilitates the sharing of stories (individual or collective), education, and connection in communities and also serves to build vitality and a sense of pride.
Organizing and facilitating art making sessions with groups. Workshops on collaboration and teamwork for projects; on boosting creativity; on organizing special events. Program development support.
