I settled in Canada in 2011. First few years were just struggle and a friend suggested me to do art workshops at TPL(Toronto Public library) when I taught her kids some art and craft. I applied and received approval and waited for two years to get chance to present. 2020 summer I facilitated my first virtual workshop at Scarborough arts for Hand sewn fabric mask making. Looking for more chances to present. so far I have volunteered for many art and craft projects at TDSB( Woburn Junior Public School). I am from India and I have sewing course certificate from India. I was self employed for five years and was making dresses and teaching kids and adults how to sew.
Thoughts About Art and Community
I am grassroot leader. Founder and parent lead for Woburn Junior communities. On diversity night I did art workshop for kids ages 0-14. It was appreciated by all the families and staff. It was the busiest station amongst all in the school. I want to present workshops and earn as well. So far I volunteered a lot and always appreciated now I am looking for some work and I want other artists who are struggling to have the career opportunities in the same field have some help to achieve their dreams.
I have done picture collage, watercolor birch tree painting, pompom keychains, ribbon bookmark, felt bookmark, hand embroidery, pompom buddies, fabric mask making.
