Arts Education is my passion. The spark was lit about 10 years ago when I got my first after school job working at an after school arts program. From there I went on to get a Bachelor of Arts in English and Theatre Studies and then a Bachelor of Education in the Intermediate/ Senior Division with Drama as my first teachable subject. I am currently a student in the Arts Education and Community Engagement Program at Centennial College. I have learned so much over the past 10 years but my primary beliefs about arts and arts education remain the same. The arts and education can be a powerful tool, one that can help a participant discover a passion, find their voice, their confidence and the best version of themselves. Being set on the path of arts education changed my life and I want more than anything to do that for others, set them on their path, inspire them, encourage them and help everyone see the beauty, wonder and magic that is the arts.
Thoughts About Art and Community
I want to help people come together through the arts, I believe that the arts is a wonderful tool that can help neighbours and communities as a whole come to together and get to know each other, bond and strengthen each other. I also want to be able to provide arts programming to those who might not otherwise be able to afford it or access it. I want to make arts stress and worry free for those who are anxious about diving into it for the first time.
I want to make a difference in the city. Arts have a very important place in our world and I want others to see that too.
I offer workshops in drama, musical theatre, playwriting, songwriting, singing and historical dance.
