Jamileh Salek

I am Jamileh Salek Ostadtaqi an Iranian-Canadian artist currently based in Toronto. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from Alzahra University in Tehran, and Master of Fine Art degree from Tarbiat Modarres University in Tehran-Iran. My work spans over three decades, and has been featured in over 40 solo and group exhibitions in Iran, where I also taught art at University level. My most influential lectures include Post-modernism and Feminism in Arts at the Annual Painting Exhibition of Isfahan, Iran, in 2003 and Pluralism in the Post-modern Arts at Soureh University of Shiraz, Iran in 2012. More recently, I was selected to participate in the group exhibition and workshops during the Symposium International De Peinture Et Sculpture Du-Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean in Quebec in 2014. Currently, I split my time between creating new series of paintings and doing independent illustration work. I am also an illustrator for fiction and non-fiction children's books.
