Weston Historical Society
The Weston Historical Society has promoted a respect for community roots and heritage structures. In addition to our regular meetings, we conduct historical walks, cemetery tours, house tours, give slide presentation, and maintain a display in the library.
We have publishes a Pictorial of Weston, Memories of Weston – a collection of stories by local residents, and just recently republished a commemorative souvenir book of the high school (1857-1907). We plan to publish a companion guide about Weston’s architecture.
Thoughts About Art and Community
The Weston Historical Society is a volunteer run group that endeavours to preserve the history of the former Town of Weston in various forms; through photographs, movies, printed documents, books, letters and other paper ephemera we strive to document and inform. The history of a community is a fragile thing and is easily forgotten, or obliterated.
We have five membership meetings each year: they are held on the first Wednesday in February, April, June, October and December.
