TAC: 2022 Grants at a Glance

Toronto Arts Council (TAC) is the City of Toronto’s funding body for artists and arts organizations.

Since 1974, TAC has offered innovative and responsive programs, enabling artists and arts organizations to explore, create and thrive. With funding of over $25 million annually, TAC grants lead to exhibitions, performances, readings and workshops seen each year by over 5 million people across the city. TAC is proud to play a leadership role in fostering Toronto’s dynamic and diverse arts scene.

Knowing about TAC’s different types of grants can help you decide on which and how many grants you can apply to in one calendar year. TAC offers:

  1. Project grants: one-time grants for arts organizations, collectives or individuals
  2. Operating grants: sustained funding for arts organizations and collectives.

TAC has two general categories of grant:

  1. Arts Discipline funding
  2. Strategic funding.

Applicants are eligible to receive one grant from each funding category per calendar year. Any exceptions to this limit are outlined in the grant program guidelines.
