Scarborough Arts produces the Annual Juried Exhibition, a showcase of visual artworks created by local artists in response to a theme. The arts and equity go hand in hand. As artists, we carve out spaces for all backgrounds and walks of life. Art allows for all people to have a voice through which they can express their unique stories and perspectives, creating a more diverse society. In collaboration with Neighbourhood Arts Network, this year’s theme is Equity through Emergence. We invite artists to explore and celebrate art that exemplifies equity and justice for all.

— What does community arts mean to you?
— How is your artistic platform a voice?
— What stories need a spotlight in the media?
— What truths can we uncover and showcase as a community?
— How can we create a better future for the next generation?
— How can we use art to lead social change?
