by Alameda Theatre Company

About:

Our Nueva Voz program is a theatre based program created to prepare and inspire the next generation of Latin American Canadians for a career in the arts. The program offers a secure, supportive environment in which participants can be themselves, and feel like they can be understood by their mentors, their peers and their communities. It's a free, after school theatre program which gives youth ages 14-19 a taste of professional training they will need to be successful. We are hopeful that the program will spark a love of theatre in a new generation, and that we will see their work submitted to future De Colores Festivals; we feel we are creating future theatre artists in this country.

Alameda Theatre Company has chosen theatre artists who specialize in all aspects of the theatre world in order to create a well-rounded experience for the participants. The adolescents will have a chance to learn from professional actors, directors, playwrights, dramaturges and movement based artists.
