JSD Media Productions proudly presents the documentary UNITY: Hip Hop's Next Chapter. A film directed by Mark Holmes and Mark Holt.
This question keeps being asked time and time again; "How do we, as a
society, connect to our youth?" For so long now, various platforms and
methods have been adopted to discover ways our schools and institutions can improve upon the vital developmental elements for our youth; self esteem, positivity and empowerment.
Unity: Hip Hop's Next Chapter is a film examining the quest of the Toronto
youth led charity, Unity and their mandate of using the Urban Arts (Hip Hop) as a means for today's youth to express themselves in a positive manner. This new self esteem should then enable the young people to make better life choices and become key role models in their own schools and communities.
While Hip Hop has often been maligned in mainstream media, the Unity team led by internationally acclaimed Bboy artist Michael Prosserman, has gone back and found the true meaning of the movement and are using it to inspire, educate and motivate anyone who will listen.
