Community Meeting in St.Jamestown Tonight
Toronto Arts Foundation in cooperation with ArtStarts, OCADU and York University is conducting an arts impact study in three Toronto neighbourhoods: Weston Mount Dennis, Malvern, and St. Jamestown.
People who work and live in the area are invited to share their stories, ideas, and knowledge of arts activity in their neighbourhood. We want to know how people participate in the arts and what they consider arts activity – music, spoken word, classical dance, poetry, visual arts, hip hop, theatre, choral singing, knitting, storytelling, crafts, photography, digital arts, and more. We want to discover where art is going on - galleries and theatres but also in homes, courtyards, church basements, community centres, parks and alleys.
We want to know how residents find out what’s going on, how arts and artists are emerging, and how community agencies are working with the arts.
Community meetings will be held on:
Thursday December 8th 7:00 to 8:45 pm
Wellesley Community Centre
495 Sherbourne St. (near Wellesley & Sherbourne)
Friday December 9th 3:45 to 5:30 pm
