Call for Artist Facilitators: Canadian Identity Workshops With Youth

February 8, 2012

Defining Moments (www.canadianmoments.ca) is a national art contest aimed at encouraging youth to express their Canadian identity through art. With the contest deadline of March 1st quickly approaching, we're looking to boost submissions by funding workshops in which youth can complete an art piece.

This is a great opportunity for funding to work with youth in your community! Here are the details...

What: Workshops in which youth create an art piece that expresses their identity as a Canadian or newcomer to Canada. Artists are responsible for providing/finding the venue and at least 8 participants.
When: Between now and March 1st. There's no minimum time requirement, as long as the art pieces are completed.
Who: Youth participants should be between the ages of 13 and 30
Medium: All mediums are welcome, as long as it can be recorded digitally and submitted online (ie. a digital photo of a visual art piece, or a video of a performance).
Compensation: artist facilitators will be paid a fee of up to $400 which covers artist fees, space, and materials (negotiable)
