wildflowers collective
About:
Wildflowers are a project-oriented arts collective. We are a eclectic group of humans who make art, build things, hold events like Award Ceremony 2009 and A Spoonful of Honey storytelling circles, spend time with bees and trees, hangout under water, tell stories, grow food, paint flowers, dance , make music, laugh, and play. It was formed through a shared vision of peace, sustainability, artful inquiry, community building, and levity. Our mandate is to use art, circles, and storytelling to support the growth of intergenerational and multicultural communities.
Through this collective we hope to broaden our community and deepen our work as artists, educators, social activists, and pollinators. To date, 20 Storytelling circles have been held, each at a different location, primarily in Metropolitan Toronto. Traditional and modern narrative methods are used to engage, share, capture and seed.
Thoughts about art and community:
we love the living art that is toronto.
Stories are everywhere.
community art is the new rock n' roll
