The Community Arts Practice (CAP) Program at York University in Toronto offers the only certificate in Community Arts at a Canadian University. The 24-credit certificate is also open to community artists who don't have an undergraduate degree and would like to complete the certificate on a part-time basis over two years. CAP students are engaged in all of the artistic disciplines noted above and more. Many share a commitment to the integration of the arts into education and activism for environmental and social justice.
We are always seeking possible placements for CAP students with art projects, agencies, and community organizations. We also are open to co-sponsoring public workshops and seminars with community artists and organizations.
