aluCine Toronto Latin Film Festival
About:
aluCine is the premiere showcase of cutting-edge Latin Short Film and Video and one of the largest Latin short film, video and new media festivals in North America. During the chilly days of November we heat up Toronto with a festive explosion of Latin culture.
Each year we screen over 200 cutting edge independent short films and videos of all genres: fiction, experimental, video art, animation, documentaries and installations.
Our support amongst the Latin artist community is an essential part in the success of our programming. We are proud to invite you to visit our web site and view the list of Latin and Canadian artists who have participated in aluCine since 1999. This support grows parallel to the number, quality and depth of the film/video/installations/new media works produced by our community.
aluCine has produced the festival with the support of York University, OCAD, the University of Toronto, Ryerson University, The National Film Board and the Lennox Contemporary Gallery as well as some of the city’s most exciting night-life venues in Yorkville and Queen West. Partnering with aluCine offers your company the opportunity to market directly through these organizations to their audiences and service users. Compounded with the easily recognizable connections to the Toronto Latin community and the more than 400 million Spanish speakers in the Americas, aluCine is an ideal platform to reach the members of these groups and we are proud of inviting you to be part of the 2011 edition of the festival by including your advertising in our catalogue.
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to showcase the work of emerging and established Latin artists living in Canada, the USA, Europe and Latin America through our festival and cultural activities. Internationally, aluCine is committed to continue disseminating the work of Latin and Canadian media artists by organizing touring exhibitions in Latin America.
