Workshop: Multidisciplinary Approach to Arthritis

Artists Health Alliance

The AHA is a one of a kind organization, building a bridge between the artistic and medical community for healing, strengthening and empowering. Artists have a unique range of needs, and the AHA serves hundreds of artists each year through its outreach program and educational initiatives. This includes the presentation of numerous workshops throughout the year designed for the creative community. From seminars on mental health and wellbeing to movement workshops and self-care demonstrations, the AHA is focused on keeping artists creating art. One of the mandates of the AHA is to give artists in financial need the means to access specialized health and wellness treatments that are offered through The Al and Malka Green Artists’ Health Centre (AHC), some of which are not covered by OHIP or private health insurance. Through management of the Joysanne Sidimus Subsidy Fund, artists can access financial support, provided through the AHC, to receive this care for 25% of the cost.
